Who he is

A black duck-like officer — vibrant blue vest, black pants and tie, a blue police visor cap with a centered silver badge, orange bill. He's currently the only character confirmed to be a bird species, which makes him visually stand apart from every other named NPC in the roster.

His personality matches the uniform: reserved, professionally passive, limited dialogue. He yells for arrest rather than drawing a weapon — a cop who plays it by the book, in a game where almost nobody else does.

The dramatic irony

Every other named character in this story is connected — directly or by implication — to Animal Corp and the anomaly infection: Dr. Harlow's matching briefcase, Ratthew's missing sister, Liz's firing. Duckman is the exception. He's here for one reason — catch a serial killer — with nothing pointing to him knowing about the bigger picture at all.

That makes him the story's one grounded, non-conspiratorial presence: a normal-world authority figure walking through a building that's quietly stopped being normal.

Duckman arrives holding a photo of Barney, hunting him as "the infamous serial killer." Turn Barney in, and Duckman gets stabbed and knocked out — he later shows up as a patient you have to treat, with no memory of what put him there. Stay silent, and he leaves peacefully, never learning the truth.
