Who he is, on the surface
A light-orange muntjac deer in blue scrubs, white coat, stethoscope, and head mirror. Dr. Harlow hired you, appears every shift to grade your performance, and progressively unlocks the tools you need to survive: shutters and cameras after Shift 1, the shop and emergency rooms after Shift 2, the taser after Shift 3.
His catchphrase — "Your sanity is important. Don't DIE on me" — is the closest thing to warmth he shows. On paper, he's just a competent, slightly detached boss.
What doesn't add up
He carries a black suitcase stamped TOP SECRETin red — the same marking that shows up on Ron from Accounting's briefcase, and again inside the safe Ratthew leads you to in Room 5. Three separate people, three matching briefcases, zero explanation.
Through a lobby-window glitch, players have spotted an anomaly version of Harlow— hollow eyes, blank expression — staring back in. He's also been seen stepping outside to talk with someone in a hazmat suit before returning to work like nothing happened.
None of this is treated as suspicious in-game. He keeps grading your shifts, keeps handing out gear, keeps saying the same lines. If he knows what's happening at Animal Corp, the game gives him zero visible reaction to it.
Harlow's Favorite Update
The July 10, 2026 update — literally named after him — gave Harlow a new model and new interactions. Naming a major content drop after the most quietly suspicious character in the game, without resolving any of the suspicion, reads either as a coincidence or a very deliberate tease. The community leans toward the latter.
